“The eyes of the LORD are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love.” (Psalm 33 v 18 NIV)
In silence we can flourish.
When we enjoy the stillness,
We benefit from quietness.
We learn to appreciate God’s fullness.
All because when silent
There is time to pray in reverence.
Prayer undergirds our life
Be this busy or not,
With the means we have got
In which to honour our Father.
“The LORD is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him.” (Lamentations 3 v 25)
In silence we become reflective,
Think of the little things
Which bring us godly happiness.
We remember the unexpected,
The smile of a stranger,
Our being kept safe from danger,
The loving thought behind a present bought,
Chosen with such care,
God had to be there as an inspiration,
The loving, committed dedication of us as a holy family keeping in touch.
“Train a child in the way (s)he should go, and when (s)he is old (s)he will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22 v 6)
Think about the friends who mean so much to everybody.
The trials when we passed the test,
Living life at our blessed best.
Yes, there is much to contemplate
And we need to continue to prayerfully dedicate,
To the Lord God Almighty,
The Sovereign Three with all authority,
Who watch over us so tenderly, lovingly caring.
In silence we can offer all thanks for this,
With a truly grateful heart.
“May Your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in You.” (Psalm 33 v 22 NIV)
We are wanting to impart that very love
We have been richly blessed to be given.
Prayer is always the start, continuation
Or the completion of all that is good for us,
And worthy of thanksgiving as we worship.
Let us then seek the silent place
Where we can trace our thoughts,
As being given entirely to the Trinity.
For in silence we experience tranquillity.
“Is not Your reverence Your confidence? And the integrity of your ways your hope?” (Job 4 v 6 TNJB)
“Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from Him.” (Psalm 62 v 5 NIV)
“Give me tranquillity of mind,
A heart content,
With all at peace.
Lead me, O Lord, down quiet ways,
My soul sustain,
My faith increase.
Give me a calm and steadfast will
To meet whatever is to be.
Facing the future unafraid,
With courage and serenity. Amen.
